Ok, forget what I said yesterday about things being calm. There I was feeling like a little pan simmering on the stove, busily steaming away at my tasks when the fire suddenly got Cranked. Up. Wooo, it’s getting hot in here!
My freelance gig got kicked into high gear, due to a shortened deadline, but I am determined to make it work. And just when I was starting to break a sweat, the doorbell rang…my first box of books arrived!
Now signed copies of Sewing Green are officially available in my shop! Just a few for starters, but I will be getting more soon. So cute, my youngest son took one look at the cover and said, “Mommy, that looks like (cousin) Alice!” to which I said, “It IS Alice!”. Yup, that’s my niece on the cover.
Oh boy, I’m scheming now. If only I didn’t have to work all weekend on this project, get my taxes done, wrap up my workshop/event schedule, feed my family, um…sleep, I’d be whipping together some kind of Grand Hoopla Book Release here on the Blog. I will do it, I promise. There will be hoopla-a-plenty. Soon.
I’ve posted this here before, but in case you missed it, I’d like to share my editor’s Sneak Peek again. (If you poke around a little on Melanie Falick’s blog, you’ll find the introduction to the book as well!)
The photography (by John Gruen) in this book is simply to die for. The styling (by Raina Kattleson) is perfection. I can say that because, well, just look at that photo up there! I could go on and on fawning over all of the people that made this project happen, but I will save it for another post. I am so thankful for all of them. More than I can say.
Awww…Betz! I am so happy for you and excited about your new book. It looks so incredibly and beautiful. Congratulations, sweet Betz.
Enjoy the time.
That’s so wonderful. I love that picture of the sewing machine in the yard. It looks like MY machine!!! I would love to sew outside. It’s 10 degrees here though, so that isn’t going to happen for awhile.
Your niece is stunning. I see a modeling career, or perhaps some freelance work like Aunt Betz.

Ooooh, I can’t wait for my book to arrive today! And post a review on Amazon!
Betz, I am so excited to get Sewing Green! At first I was bummed bout because it wasn’t going to be available until AFTER my birthday. But now that it is available — and my birthday isn’t for another week and a half — I don’t know if I can practice enough restraint to not wait to see if the multiple hints I’ve dropped to my family have worked! Hee!!
Congratulations! The cover photo is wonderful.

I can’t wait to see this book! Your niece on the cover is beautiful…

I am waiting for my book from Amazon as I ordered it last Oct. I think. got an email that said it had shipped. can’t wait. have also had so many compliments on the wool scarf I got from you before Christmas. could not give it away. Linda Gerig
I looked at the book at my bookstore. Nice! It is so on my Amazon wish list too.
I know about the freelancing life going into high gear. Just finished editing a huge economic report written by non-native speakers. Ow. I just want to make pretty things for a few days.

Here in Italy we say: “IN BOCCA AL LUPO!” (“In wolf’s mouth!” That is yours “Break a leg!”… I really wish to you to have more and always more satisfactions, because in your works there are all the good things present also in you!
