Betz White has built a career on thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship and a focus on earth-friendly materials. She is a graduate in Fashion Design from the University of Cincinnati, a former children’s wear designer and the bestselling author of Warm Fuzzies, Sewing Green and Present Perfect: 25 Gifts to Sew & Bestow. Betz has been featured on Martha Stewart’s television show, as well as on the cover of CRAFT magazine and on numerous craft podcasts. Her bold aesthetic combined with her education in apparel design results in a unique offering of patterns and projects for the modern sewer.
Betz’s first book, Warm Fuzzies (North Light 2007) is the go-to book on recycled felting, and has sold over 30,000 copies to date. Betz’s second book, Sewing Green (STC Craft 2009) invites crafters to “stitch beautifully, tread lightly” to create of a variety of apparel and accessories made from repurposed and organic materials. She has contributed projects to a number of additional craft titles including Whip Up Mini Quilts, We Love Color, Sewn Hats, and Quilting with a Modern Slant. Betz has also been a featured designer/entrepreneur in the books Blogging For Bliss, Sew Retro, Country Living: The Mom’s Guide to Running a Business, and Signature Styles: 20 Stitchers Craft Their Look.
