I finally finished knitting my first attempt at a pair of socks! The phrase ‘first attempt’ is a little misleading, what with all of the mistakes, sizing issues, frogging and starting all over again…but still. My first socks. Look! (More about the groovy yarn and stuff in this former post.) I have more yummy sock yarn waiting in the wings, but I think I need to knit something else before returning to more sock knitting. Something less picky and easier to fit.
Also got some fresh WIP going this weekend. That and an overhaul of my packing and shipping department for my etsy orders. Instead of pulling out boxes, tissue, tape, etc all over every surface in my office, I set up a ‘station’ inside one of my studio closets. Everything is neat, organized and at-the-ready! I took photos but decided not to bore you with them. I mean, how exciting can Order Fulfillment get? Well, when being efficient allows for more creative time, I’d say pretty darn exciting!
Ok, back to work…have a great Monday!
(edit: if you reeeaaallly want to see the new “pack-n-ship” see here.)
Hi! Well, call me a geek, but i just think seeing how other peoples crafting and shipping depts look is very interesting.
(yes thats right, i said call me a geek!) 🙂
P.s. I have put a picture of your book on my blog. I hope you don’t mind, but please let me know if you would like me to remove it.
Your socks look fabulous! After you get the hang of it, socks can become addicting, so I hope you continue to make more.
Congratulations on the socks! I found that after the first pair was done…it was off to the races! The first pair took me over a year. And then I started whipping them out two weeks or so.
But what I really want to say…I love your shoes! Who makes them? I am coveting them greatly.
Hi Rooie,
Thanks! The shoes are by Keen:

Yours in the only blog I look to read everyday! I just love your style and how incredibly productive and positive you are. I want to be like you when I grow up!
What an inspiration you are!
And keep up with the socks; it gets much easier! (Do some baby socks to get the technique down… helps to show productivity sooner.)
Autumn in Wisconsin (literally ha!)
Hey, those are gorgeous. Love that sunshine yarn!
I do know about the Babette blanket and I love it. I have had that ear-marked for a long time.
Thanks for sharing with me and keep it coming.
Take care, (love the fingerless mitts, too:)

ok, what makes me smaile about this post is that I own those shoes in two different colors and wear them all the time! You clearly have excellent taste in socks AND shoes!
Those socks are awesome, they scream fall and cozy! Love em.
Exciting about your new packing area, it’s so nice to feel and be organized!
I want to learn how to knit. What is a good source? I love your blog. Very inspirational.
Thanks
Eliz

Love your shoes, I have them in orange. My first pair of socks have been frogged twice, and re-started again. If I don’t watch it, I may be darning them before I even finish them. Kudos to you!
The socks turned out great!
The pack n ship photos are great…thanks for showing the non glamorous side of shipping 😉
