This weekend I happened to go to Target during the Lilly Pulitzer frenzy. Lilly fans apparently bought out the store, minutes after it opened. This happened online and around the country. If you’re a fan of Preppy but didn’t score any Lilly goodness this weekend, it’s time to get sewing!
Seeing the cute little cosmetic bags in bright prints made me think of a great travel case that Rebekah, of The Little Red Thread made a while back! She adapted the Gentleman’s Travel Case pattern from Present Perfect to make a girlie version and I just love it!
She used a kelly green canvas, a bright pink zipper and a mod floral for the lining and accents. And that pink topstitching makes it!
The original pattern calls for decorative trim stitched to the top of the bag. Instead, Rebekah used the same fabric as the lining to stitch and turn strips to apply to the case instead.
If you want more print (if you’re a Lilly fan, you can never get enough print!) you could make the case in a print with solid accents. And if you want actual Lilly Pulitzer fabric, search for it on Etsy! There are a lot of fun options to take advantage of!
