“What Goes Around Comes Around” was the name of my FIRST workshop I taught last weekend sponsored by The Sewing Lounge at the Textile Center in Minneapolis! The workshop was all about fulling recycled wool sweaters, chopping them up and turning them in to something fresh and exciting. It was great to be around an inspiring group of women that share the same enthusiasm for fiber/craft/recycling/etc and to spend two days immersed in it!
We talked about the beauty of wool and all of it’s amazing shrinky-felty qualities. I shared different techniques used for seaming and embellishment. We looked at examples of my work as well as inspiration from magazines, websites, and books.
Then we let loose with the scissors and the wool started to fly! These are a few results of our madness.
Kathleen’s fabulous green scarf
Jan’s graphic tote
Kathy’s ribbed edge scarf
Betsy’s needle felting in action
Beth’s needle felted noodle cozy
I think we all learned a lot from each other. I was definitely inspired by all who attended!
If you are interested, this is the resource list I provided in my workshop.
fantastic work, would love to attend such a class though I have no crafting talent at all…love the purple flowers above.
