shhh….I’m back from vacation but don’t tell anyone. We had a wonderful time pretending that our lives aren’t about to be turned upside down by our impending move next month!
(my brother found this funny piece of bark in the woods, isn’t it great? It looks like some mossy voo-doo mask!)
Here are a few shots from our week to give you a peek at one of my favorite places on earth…
This is pure paradise. No matter how many places I’ve lived in my life, this remains a constant. My family has come here every summer for generations. (I’ll give you a hint: it’s in New Hampshire)
We did a little flea marketing…
A lot of eating…
A lot of enjoying the lake… This is a particularly quiet morning shot. I’m going to try to hold this image in my mind as I face the challenges of the next few weeks to come. I’ve got my energetic children, a cluttered household and a busy business to pack, relocate and settle in a matter of weeks. I’m not entirely sure how it’s all going to come together, so I’m just plodding ahead. I’ll try to pop in a few posts along the way…
That is one spooky bark, what a scary yet funny photo 🙂 Such a beautiful tranquil place to holiday, I would love to see that lake in person…and of course, what is vacation without a lot of eating and thrifting?
That looks so wonderful! Glad you had a peaceful trip.
I hope you have great time in your vacations!
I`m going…..TODAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Lovely place, beautiful photos of the lake. so peaceful!!
love that first picture!
Just looking at the picture of the lake is calming. What a beautiful place to vacation.
Looks like a fabulous place! I love NH – I’ve visited often – my aunt & uncle lived in Andover Mass and had a holiday house on Newfound Lake – I loved crossing the Atlantic to visit – now they live near Hanover and my other relatives in Fairlee Vermont – right on the lake – my idea of heaven! I hope you’re move goes well!
It’s breathtakingly beautiful. I wish I could take a week off, but we’re moving in two weeks, the appartment looks like something out of a horror movie, the kitchen still has to be renovated, and anyway, the weather is not good in Paris, so what else would we do but things in boxes…
Hope your move is an easy one.
Take care.
ahh, I understand. We moved a lot, but we always had the cottage in the summer. It’s the only place I’ve had the same friends all my life.
Oh, such a beautiful spot of the world. Lovely! And I adore that first photograph of you with the wood – such fun.
I think I went to that same lake when visiting my brother 3 years ago and it was gorgeous (but I could never spell it)…and I would end up with one slipper too which is hilarious! It’s along way from Syndey or I’d go every year just to sit on the dock and boat to the little towns. kathy
The cottage looks like heaven!
How odd that you were in New Hampshire, I was also just in New Hampshire for a family reunion. It was near the “lakes region” in Wilmot. I have no idea if that would be near your place or not.
Besides the hills it felt a lot like Minnesota to me.
Your felted clogs look fun, I wish I knew how to knit.
Lake Ossipee,N.H. Looks like the same cabin my daughters and I rented awhile back.
