Wackidoodle…that’s a word I use a lot. Especially lately. Meaning: wonky, topsy-turvy, discombobulated, etc. We are technically “moved in” but by no means are we unpacked or settled.
Take today. I unpacked a moving box in my studio labeled: CASHMERE AND CAKE STANDS. (When I was in my packing frenzy in WI before the move, I was low on bubble-wrap. What better packing material for my refashioned cake stands than my recycled cashmere sweater scraps? Come to think of it, the wool roving was pretty successful padding as well)
Oh yes, things are definitely wacki-doodle. From a crafty-business point of view, things are rockin’! There are my various mentions in some mags out this month. And if all of the mag-love wasn’t enough, last monday my ol’ Martha debut re-ran! The timing has been a bit challenging with the move. Extra traffic on the site with no stock or functioning studio for a good portion of the month left me feeling overwhelmed and unprepared! A bit like arriving at your own surprise party in sweats and no make-up. I’m not complaining…it’s totally all good. Just a little wacki-doodle….
So here I am, I’m back. It’s nice to have this bloggy familiar place to hang out in since my new digs are so, you know…new.
By the way, these little bugaboos are the projects I did for Australian Homespun. I figured most of you people “up-over” (opposite of “down-under”) probably wouldn’t get a look at them on the newsstand. Since they are heading into early spring in Australia, they asked for 3 little garden critters as felty wall hangings. They were really fun to do and the editors were great to work with.
And, hey, if you are new here by way of any of the aforementioned media…WELCOME! I’m glad you’ve come to visit. I now have more stock in the shop and I’m open for business! 🙂
Hi Betz, hey I guess the cable man showed up and got things rolling today, huh? So good to talk with you this morning, good luck with those boxes.
Hi Betz, I just bought the Homespun magazine yesterday and think it is great. Christine Australia
Those are adorable bugs … thanks for showing them to us who are “up-over” .. lol. 🙂
Oh my, everything is coming at once. Doesn’t it always work like that? Congratulations on all of that. Hang in there. The bugs are fantastic, love’em!
Glad that whilst not completely settled you have at least moved in! Also great to see your beautiful felted critters!!
i’m glad things have calmed down a bit for you. moving can be SUCH a hassle, and i’ve only ever lived in a one bedroom and not moved farther than one hour… i can’t imagine a full house across country!
Are you ready to slip into your super women outfit yet? 🙂 Those bugs are great. A nice little gift for little nieces I would say.
Those little felt critters are so precious!!
Good luck with settling into the new place!
He he, I just ordered the Homespun mag too. Just gotta see more of those felt critters. I bet AH must be wondering at the sudden orders coming in from all round the world.

It was so fun to make and the recipient loved it too. Now I need to make one for MY daughter!
Oh and btw, whenever my daughter seems cranky for no apparent reason, I tell her she’s all wackadoo, which, I think, is pretty much the same as wacki-doodle 🙂
Just discovered your blog as a result of trawling martha’s website and finding your fabulous demonstration. Love your cakestand… thought you’d like to see my wire one I filled with altered spice jars. http://paperandpearls.blogspot.com/2007/08/altered-spice-jars-and-blog-candy.html
I can’t wait to have a look round my local charity shops to find some old jumpers! All the best with settling into your new home!
I love the look of these projects, really wonderful and fun for Spring! Congrats on all your site traffic and features, you deserve it!
