For someone that over-thinks nearly every aspect of her life, I ‘ve managed to add another “What was I thinking?” moment to the list…
With 2 skinny weeks left to my giant manuscript deadline (that’s already been extended ) I’ve decided to participate in the Richmond Craft Mafia’s Spring Badda-Bing on Sunday April 20th.
Say it with me now…”What was I thinking?”
I dunno. I was thinking I’d like to visit Richmond, I haven’t done a show in 18 months, I could meet people, sign a few books, sell a few cupcakes. Y’know, stuff like that. That’s not so crazy, right?
Well, let’s not use that word. All I know is that my brain aches and a little cross-training between writing and crafting never hurt anyone. (Whoa…does anyone else get vertigo staring at those cupcake swirls?)
Hey Richmond! Ready or not, here I come!
I klicked in here while on the phone and said “Oh, my god she’s been busy!” out loud. And I had not even read about the deadline!!
I wish I had that much crafting to do, you get so much done when you’re busy!
I just LOVE your swirly cupcakes! Good luck in Richmond and good luck with the deadline!
Yeah…those swirls….they’re hypnotizing. Makes you want to buy one for sure.
Oh Betz, I always say, if you want something done ask a busy woman.
Mmmmm, those “cupcakes” look mouth watering delicious!
Lucky me! I live in Richmond. I had no idea about this show but will definitely be stopping by now that you mentioned it. I’ve been wanting to buy one of those beautiful cupcakes since I first stumbled upon your blog.
Dont worry its a natural reaction to avoid thinking about having to finish something to start something else- a bit like going shopping to avoid worry about an overdraft! Beautiful work- are you using all recycled knitwear for the felt? regards Zia
Thanks Ziakoko!
Yes, they are all made out of felted sweaters….yummy.
Betz
good for you Betz, grab every sweater by the sleeves!!

Oh My G….I, too live in Richmond and am now peeing my pants with glee at the opportunity to meet you! Oh my the lady that made felted wool fun for me! I will see you there!
Yay! Come to the show! Glad you all are excited about it!
Lol, yes, you are quite the busy lady! It’s good to take a break from one project to work on something else tho, and I’m sure you’ll have fun in Richmond.
Good luck with the show! Those cupcakes and cup o joes look great!
Those look so great in the box like that. Happy belated birthday, Betz. It looks like you had fun!
Have fun at the show and those cupcakes are going to fly on out. I don’t blame you a bit.

susan
They all look so great. I wish I could see them in person. Good luck with the show.
Suddenly I hear Gnarles Barkley in the background singing “Does that make me craaaaaazzzy?”
Yes it does. đ
Good heavens those are the cutest things ever. Especially when you see so many of them together.
just blog-hopping, coming from Coralie’s, and I have to say that I am totally under the spell of your pretty creations! Good luck for Richmond,
Baraginie
They look beautiful! Hope you have a wonderful time : D
I always love looking at your cupcakes, they look so cool in multiples. And the WIP toppings, beautiful. Now this is making me hungry, good luck and have fun at the show.
I love the swirls…very inviting! Wish you great luck in Richmond.
…and don’t worry! We all have those lapse in judgement! Like your ‘what was I thinking’ moment!
It will turn out okay…it always does. I’m trying to learn to live in the moment. So far…not working so well! Have a great time and I’m dying for your new book to be published.
You are one ambitious lady. Just enjoy and relax… everything always gets sone somehow. If I lived closer I’d come and help you out.
Joni
PS Can’t wait for your new book!!!
What delightful photo…just yummy!!!
I love that your boys sold their drawings-too good! When I kind of managed a yarn shop in town my son starting making soaps with little plastic figures inside to sell at the shop. His soaps got mentioned in a newpaper article about the yarn shop and he was so excited. Friends used to come in and buy his soaps:) I love that entrapenurial(sp?) spirit. Great story, Betz.
You look cute and your cupcakes, too.
