Hope you all had a great Halloween and that you are ready for the 3rd and final weekly give-away! Woot! As we head into November, I thought it’d be fun to focus on ornaments.
Do you remember the cupcake ornaments I did for this magazine? Well, I’m giving away my first prototype, seen above, in yummy sherbet colors. Also up for grabs is the little birdy friend nesting there in the branches.
BTW, the bird ornament happens to be one of three ornament projects in Warm Fuzzies, page 38. He’s attached to a clip, so instead of dangling from a branch, he can actually perch on one.
Enter to win both ornaments by commenting on THIS post by Tuesday 11/4 (midnight EST). Be sure to leave your email address or a link back to your own blog, etc. If I can’t contact you I won’t be able to get your address if you win! Winner will be chosen once again by Randy, the Random Number Generating Robot, and announced here on Wednesday 11/5.
So tell me …out of all the ornaments you have in your collection, which is your favorite?
edit: comments now closed…thank you!
I LOVE your little bird ornament! Okay, so I love them all, but the bird ornament is special. See, my great grandmother Flossie (her given name, I swear!) made blankets and pillows out of borgana fabric. Borgana is basically fake fur. At Easter, she made a big chicken that sat in a large basket full of jellybeans. She also made a bunch of chicks that were shaped a great deal like your bird. I loved the chicks, and used to carry them around when I was little. Even after I grew up (as much as I can claim to have “grown up”), I love to hold the fat little chicks in the palm of my hand.
Adorable pieces! “Warm Fuzzies” is on my holiday wishlist!
Favorite ornament…one I made when I was in first grade with my goofy 80s school picture featured!
[email protected]
One of my favorite ornaments is a set of papier mache pears my grandmother made long before I was born. i never met my grandmother but I always love pulling the pears out each year to hang on the tree.
All of my ornaments are special to me, but my favorites would be the handcrafted ones made by my son when he was little. The school projects…the Sunday School class crafts…they’re the ones that cannot be replaced.
Your ornaments are fantastic !! Fingers crossed. LindaSonia ([email protected])
Lovely bird! It would be so funny to get it:)))
Have a really nice day!
So cute! My little guy just said “look mama its a bird”…he was pretty excited just to see it, he’d be thrilled if it LIVED at our house!
Great ornaments! Your Warm Fuzzies book and blog have drawn me into felting as my secret get-away treat a few times a week. I have some wool pincushions felting in the washer right now!
My favorite ornaments are those made by my kids when they were little. They’re grown now and I miss our holidays together.
Ah, beautiful — and so, so generous of you, Betz! All but a few of our ornaments were handmade by my husband’s grandmother over a period of many years … I find that each year my favorite changes, but this year it’ll prob be the taxi cab as I find myself missing NYC (from where we moved back in January).
Thank you so much for doing these givaways!! My favorite ornament is a glittery angel that hung on my parents’ tree when I was a kid (when I left for college, I stole it). When I look at it now, it looks pretty cheap and gaudy, but when I was a kid, I thought it was the most beautiful thing in the world!
My favorite ornaments are the ones that I made in Girl Scouts 20+ years ago when my mom was the troop leader. So silly, but they remind me of her.
My favorite ornament is the one with loads of decorative pins in a styrofoam shape, surrounding a picture of my brother and me when we were kids… it brings back my childlike wonder, every year I hang it.
My favorite ornaments are the ones that were handmade by my son. Second to that are the ones we buy on vacation and to mark special times.
Oooh soo cute! Count me in!
ooooo these are wonderful! i make a hand-made christmas ornament every year for friends & family … i’m up to 100 people on my list already! it’s so much fun to make them, though, and prepare for the holidays!
I have more than one favorite ornament. I love the ornaments we had hanging on the pews at our wedding we have about 34 of them. They are all different looking ornaments. [email protected]
I love your ornaments and would so love to hang them on my tree!
My favorite ornament is one I got way back in grade school. So it is over 40 years old now. It is a little stocking made of felt with glitter around the top. It had little candy canes in it when I got it. I used it as a pattern one year and made a bunch of ornaments just like it for my kids to give to the kids in their classes at school. It was so fun repoducing a fun memory.
Have a Belssed Day,
Diane
I don’t know if I can choose a favorite ornament! If you twist my arm I’d have to say the large silver jingle bell topped with red ribbon printed with our names and wedding date, the favor from our Christmas-time wedding.
I also love the ornaments that were made by my kids either in school or at home. We used to try to do a new handmade ornament every year. I always loved the small clothes pin reindeer that we made but now that my kids are grown, I love putting the three red birds that my Dad got many, many years ago on our tree. They remind me of our family tree and all the memories that go with that … especially the memory of he and I going out to buy a tree just a day or two before Christmas so we could get a cheaper one. He always used little bitty me to try to get the guy to reduce the price. Funny! Oh and congratulations on your Craft magazine cover. You look “fabulous”!
Adorable ornies! I’m addicted to Christmas ornaments, an addiction I share with my sister 🙂 Thank you so much for having this giveaway!
[email protected]
One of my favorite ornaments is a plaster of paris Santa my sister painted to look like Prince, in the mid eighties. The whole family painted ornaments at Thanksgiving that year, and that’s the ornament I remember best.
THanks for a great giveaway–I would love to win!
My husband have been giving me an ornament a year since our engagement, they are definitely my favorites!
I love handmade ornaments. My favourite ones are some drippy crystal icicles that I made from beads. I love your felty fuzzy ones though!
My mother made it a tradition to let my sister and I pick out a new ornament for the tree every year — and now I have 20+ ornaments, each with a story and memories attached!! I’m so glad she did that . . . and I now do the same with my kids! My favorite ornament would have to be a fluffy pom-pom bunny that I literally knocked down all of my Tot-Time classmates to get on the day we had Breakfast With Santa. When I tell the story every year, my kids and husband roll their eyes at my bad behavior!! 🙂 –Leslie ([email protected])
Those are adorable. We don’t celebrate Xmas, but those would be greatly appreciated by my daughters regardless. Heck, they’d be greatly appreciated by me too. 🙂
Oh, oh, oh, wait, I do have a favorite ornament even if we don’t celebrate the holiday. I just remembered.
My father-in-law used to do quite a bit of wood working. He tried to make these ornate scroll ornaments to sell at craft fairs, but they took far too long to make. So instead, he gave us the prototypes. They’re very pretty and we have them hanging up in our sitting room. My favorite is a very pretty dark wood oval one.

I love the bird! My favorite ornament was a reindeer I made out of popsicile sticks and pompoms in 2nd grade.
Oh, how I’m excited to enter for your ornament give away! For I came to your website just now to bring up the tutorial on the felted pomander. I have recently moved to the UK for my husband’s job and since I’m not working yet, I’ve taken to making lots of crafts (as I’ve recently discovered the wonders of felt). I’ve been making garland and ornaments for our first Christmas tree (we were just married in July!) and I wasn’t able to bring many things with me to the UK. I would love your ornaments to hang on our first Christmas tree – next to my homemade handicrafts and the three Christmas ornaments I did pack with us (a ceramic bird ornament – I LOVE birds and they were even the theme for our wedding, our official Hallmark First Christmas Together ornament, and my favorite ornament). My favorite ornament is a Peter Rabbit ornament. My mom introduced me to Beatrix Potter when I was just a little girl and I so loved to check out her books as a child. I was overjoyed one Christmas years ago to stumble upon sweet Peter Rabbit ornaments – I bought two, one for me and one for my mom. And now I’m in the beautiful UK with magpies and swans and bunnies all around – it’s no wonder Beatrix was so inspired to write her animal stories.
Thanks for posting the tutorial … and I am off to make the felted pomander whilst watching Mansfield Park on our computer and hoping to win your sweet ornaments.
Just in case I’m the lucky winner, my email is

Hi!! I would love those ornaments, especially the bird! My favorite ornament is one of the ones given to me as part of a yearly tradition with my mom. When I moved out on my own and got my own trees for Christmas, she started each year giving me one FABULOUS ornament per year. My fave is a Santa that looks like he was made by Tim Burton. His legs are very long and skinny, and they are hanging on a crescent moon so he swings upside down, and holds a present out to you. I just love him.
Love your cute ornaments! My favorite is too hard pick since I have so many. They all have special meaning. Would be happy to add these to the collection!
[email protected]
One of my favorite things is to scour thrift shops and other places for homemade softie ornaments. I started with ones my mom made me when I was 2 years old and have made and gifted many to friends. Yours would look lovely amongst the others, but, of course they would be the loveliest of all.
Those are adorable! I especially like the cupcake ornament!! Thank you for entering me!
I love these little ornaments. I purchased my first set of wool sweaters on Saturday. I have already felted them up.

I haven’t made them from your book yet but the birdie is a cutie!

I have a couple of old glass ornaments that are my favorites – nothing special about them really – they’re from the 1960s – but I love them.
Hello!
As children our tree was decorated with glass ornaments, and my sister & I always argued who was going to put our favourite one on (we could never remember who had had the privilege the previous year!) – it was a glass bird with a feathery tail and had a clip underneath to attach it. I’d love to win this bird to give to her!

Your ornaments are just adorable! I love the bright, fun colors. My favorite ornaments are the handmade ones made by my son. Each year I love unpacking them and remembering when he brought them home from school. He’s in 5th grade now, so they don’t do as much as they used too but pulling out the ones from preschool are the best! I’m not picky about the ornaments on my tree…it’s just a free-for-all filled with lots of homemade & ornaments picked up through our travels over the years. Each one means something to us though!
Hi – it’s so generous of you to do this! I love those cupcake ornaments you make 😀
My favourite ornament is a little wooden angel playing the flute, it was a gift from a special friend.
You can find me at http://domestikated.wordpress.com
It is hard to decide which of my ornaments is my favorite. I love them all. But if I have to choose…I would choose my vintage ornaments. They make me smile.
It would be so hard for me to pick one ornament as a favorite since they all have memories attached to them… hmmm, maybe the handmade dough angel given to me by a friend – she made it in grade school…(back in the 70s!)
Oh these are so cute! My favorite ornament is a little girls hanging from a snowflake given to me by the parents of my best childhood friend on my first Christmas.
I have fallen in love with felted wool projects. I bought your book in the summer and have looked at it a thousand times. You are an inspiration!
Hi Betz, about the ornaments my favorite is the leaf, very cute. I bought one of your book one month ago, and every night, when i go sleep, i look this book for my Crhistmas inspiration. Thank you for your project and to share these with us. Buy Buy Rita
Love the cupcake!!! My favorite ornament is a Pillsbury Doughboy like ornament my grandma made out of a baby sock.
My tree is filled with ornaments the kids made. They are all my favorite. (wink wink)
Your ornaments are the cutest thing. Feel free to send them over. 🙂
plaidtoaster at gmail
My favorite ornament is the vintage Santa my sweet grandma gave my son when he was a baby. I miss her, but she lives on in my heart. Love your ornaments, they would look fabulous on my tree!
I love fun handmade ornaments and have many from an artists cooperative gallery I used to work for. Mmmm my favorite is a little gray cat standing up and holding a heart. Could be my sweet Natasha or my mischievous imp Tati

I have a couple of old birds (glittery) that i love. we always put lots of birds in our tree….also an old cuckoo house
Every year in mid december my daughter and i go shopping for ornaments! we each get to pick one new one. we also make many many……..
We already have to start thinking of the holidays don’t we! I love these little ones so here goes…my father was in the military and we lived in Germany when I was a child and there is such a beauty about wooden ornaments that I have kept that tradition for our tree. I have kept these German treasures and have added to them over the years.
These are so cute, i love felted wool stuff.
My favorite ornaments are the ones my Daughter made back in elementary school. She is now an adult and cringes when she see them on the tree.
Ravergirl123 at yahoo.com
Really great ornaments! I can’t pick a favorite of mine. I love all the handmade ones but I admit that I have tons of others. Maybe my fave would be the wooden buffalo I got when I visited Yellowstone with my friend. I also love the ones I have that look like my cats 🙂
Your work is great – I just purchased your book and am on the look-out for wool sweaters!
Most of my ornaments were gifts or have special memories attached to them, but if I had to choose a favorite it would be my silver sleigh bells. Every year until I was 25, “Santa” (later revealed as my great-aunt) gave me a silver bell with the year and my name engraved on it. They are among my most prized possessions.
I love the cupcakes! And the lattes…. 🙂
Oh yes! I bought that magazine after you mentioned it previously — I need to find it so I can get a start on ornaments. Love those mini cupcakes 🙂
Ok, this one is easy. By far my favorite Christmas ornament is a very sparkly, glittery snowman I got in Germany. It was at a famous Christmas store in an old Medieval town. Thanks for the chance to win a lovely ornament made by your very hand.
Oh those are just adorable – I love Christmas ornaments. I don’t know if I can pick a favorite but my favorite part is pulling them out every year and remembering where each ornament is from or what it represents as we hang them on the tree.
I love the little bird! My favorite ornament of ours is a birch bark reindeer; i also have a fondness for the little sweater ornaments from anthro…
Oh Betz!
I love them all! But if I had to pick…I pick the CUPCAKE! I have a thing for cupcakes!
Thanks, Maria
http://mariagrimes.blogspot.com/
You would give away your first prototype? You need to save it for posterity – it might be in a museum one day. “Betz White’s first cupcake prototype.” And everyone would ooh and aah. I assure you that if I win, I’ll save it for you!
My favorite ornaments are the ones my children got every year. They tell the story of our lives; our travels and circumstances. And I have some sweet things made by my children when they were younger.
Lorrie
I’ve been collecting vintage glass baubles from charity (thrift) shops and car boot (trunk) sales for a few years now and have finally got enough to decorate my tree entirely with them. They are so beautiful and fragile and remind of the Christmas tree baubles we had as children. http://www.makinggooduse.typepad.co.uk
My very favorite ornament is a toss between my very first baby ornanment and a holy hobby one. The Holly Hobby ornament is stuffed on one side and a flat picture on the other…I have always adored it!
I love all of my ornaments, but I would have to say my favorites are the ones my MIL makes every year. She takes photos of my three cute kids and then makes picture ornaments for them. It is so cool to look back on all of the photos every year.
I am definitely getting your book and trying to make these though! So cute!
I have a whole tree full of handmade ornaments, so I am not sure it’s fair to choose just one of those.
I’ll have to say that one of my favorites is a new one my sister bought me last year. I have one tree with just snowman ornies and she bought me a snowman (all glass and glitter) that is peeking through a hedge. If you turn the ornament around, his bum is sticking out of the hedge.
Hi Betz! lovely lovely ornaments, I’m not thinking to win again (but who knows?)… My favourite ornaments I made with dried orange slices… they are so warm and smell so good!
I love my handmade ornaments. The marbled glass balls, the embroidered “Seven Swans a-Swimming”, the painted dough ornaments from last year, and my crocheted snowflakes – I taught myself to crochet just so I could make them!
My favorite ornaments are ones made by my grandchildren – most especially a beaded candy cane – I would love to win this set of ornaments – great!!!
Jill ([email protected])
Hope i win the last one! Your stuff is AWESOME! Happy Holidays!
Ashley- marriedtojimhalpert.blogspot.com
Since I’m a nut for cardinals, the bird is my favorite but I love all of them.
[email protected]
I LOVE that cupcake ornament!! My favorite ornament is a red schoolhouse that one of the older boys painted when he was in kindergarten. We can’t remember which one! They both fight over it every year and it’s saved until they both come home to fight over who will put it on the tree.
I love all the ornaments! My favorite ones growing up at my parents house were made from an old family friend. She was big into beads and made ornaments out of them and, my favorite part, the ornaments were mini-picture frames – double-sided…she put in pictures of us throughout the years!
Another old time favorite is the Navy man…one of my many brothers was in the Navy for four years and some Christmas we didn’t get to see him : (
My favorite ornaments were made by my dear mother in law, out of felt! She did embroidery and they are just so special. She died many years ago but we always remember her when we put these on the tree.
[email protected]
Count me in! I cannot pick a favorite- I have a beautiful set of eclectic ornaments, as I have received a new ornament each Christmas from my mother, aunt and grandmother since I was little. My collection is priceless.
Those are adorable! I’d love to be entered.
I love many of our ornaments but the favorites are those with memories attached that someone always brings up as we decorate the tree.
barbara06(at)gmail(dot)com
Fav. ornament… a star I made in Kinder. colored with magic marker with my picture on it.
Hope I win!
I have a giant plaid christmas ball that I bought for my pops a few years back, and it is shiny and gigantic!
Oooooh count me in on this one!! Those ornaments would be right at home on my tree!!
My favorite ornament is an angel ornament I made as a little girl. It is made entirely of different types of pasta & then spray painted.
Every time I go on vacation I buy a christmas ornament as a souvenir. That way when I’m decorating the tree I can remember my past travels and reminisce.
Also I’m making a fabric bird ornament for an ornament exchange, but after seeing this one I’m feeling like I might just change gears…
I love your cupcake ornament. So cute!
My favorite ornaments are a pack of three Avon ornaments, I think from either the ’70s or early ’80s. I love to open up the box with my ornaments because I can smell them instantly. They actually still smell after all these years.
my favourite ornie has to be my micky mouse snow ball one is so cute and i’ve had it since i was little!
My favorite ornament is an ugly flocked purple partridge. It is the first ornament my parents ever bought as a couple. When they moved to the boat, I inherited all of their ornaments. It is always the first ornament we put on the tree. Now that they are back living ashore, I get them a bird ornament every year. Your felt bird would be perfect!
Heather

Hi! My favorite ornament I picked up at a bazaar 30 years ago. It is a little felt mouse sleeping under a quilt in a walnut shell half. I made your birds last winter and then made nests out of wire, threads, yarns, etc. All that received them loved them and your book. Cheers.!
These are adorable.
So beautiful! My favorite is my daughter’s first ornament…a silver rocking horse with a tag on it that has her name and birthday engraved. It reminds me of how lucky I am to have my dream come true by having me two girls. 🙂
Mere
Every year we picked a theme-cookie cutters or santas or snowmen-they were all fun, but the best were the ones either made by my kids or my mom each year. Never elaborate but each one makes me tear up when we unpack them.
Great ornaments!
My favorite ornament is a broken glass angel I found on the street 30 years ago, about a month after I got married. It was the first Christmas decoration my husband and I had as a couple.
Oh I love these ornaments – my favorite ornaments are any that are handmade – especially snowmen.
That birdie really wants to fly home to my house. I have the perfect nest already picked out….fingers crossed!!
I love that cupcake!!! SO friggin cute <3
Hmm, my very favorite ornament? That is so tough, as there are so many that I just love. I guess my favorite is a little crystal angel that I would always set onto a light on the tree, and she had such a pretty glow. My mom got her as a gift when I was little and she passed her down to me when I had my own home!
I’ve collected ornaments since I was a kid. My family growing up wasn’t very strong on the traditional celebrations. So I missed a lot of stuff, so once I got older I started doing a lot of stuff I missed out on.
I have 2 favorite ornaments. Both were purchased on my honeymoon. One is a Fishing nutcracker for my husband. And mine is a cat sleeping in Santa’s hat. Just a look reminds me of my wedding and all the years spent with my husband.
Oooh I’d *love* to win the ornaments. I have many special ornaments, but my favorite is a handpainted wood girl in a red nightgown. My aunt painted my sister and I a bunch of these when we were little, probably out of a kit but that is my favorite.
My next favorites would be the baby ones my inlaws picked out for each of my children, they have a matching on on their tree.
Pick me, pick me!
My favorite ornament is not for hanging in a tree, it’s a big felt stocking which I made years ago from a pattern in a Japanese magazine when I was living there. I learned outline stitch in order to embroider the dates on the stocking, and was quite proud of myself!
Very beautiful! I LOVE the cupcake ornament!!!
I’ve made 100’s of little angel beadlings for my tree, and they’re my favourites…
Oh I hope I win!! Love these.
My favorite ornament is one in which our oldest daughter put a penny in when she was 2. It has hung on the tree every year since then with the same penny in it. Our daughter is now 30 years old!
[email protected]
I don’t have my favorite – that would be one that is still at my Mum’s house in NZ – these foil things that you squish and they become round. But it’s the smell of them that I love. I can almost smell them now just thinking about them! The smell means Christmas is coming, and all the good things that come with that. Maybe I should get my Mum to send me one of them this year?!!
I have two favorite ornaments: the first is one of the many stuffed wool ornaments my mom bought in church basements 30-40 years ago — a lovely rags-on-one-side and gown-on-the-other-side Cinderella comes to mind. And I adore a tacky, plastic ornament given to me by my sister-in-law — with a photo of my little girl, press a button and presto! it’s my little girl’s voice singing “Jingle Bells.” [email protected]
much too much difficult to chose, both are relly soo cute ! And as I love felt, cupcakes and birds … 😉
Anyway it’s always a pleasure to see your lovely creations, go on !!
I Love my 1st ornament bought with my husband. We were visiting canada and found the cutest little christmas shop. They had every ornament possible! We came home with a sweet hand made polymer clay mouse couple. It was our 1st major vacation …and our 1st ornament together. 15 years later the tradition is still stong….an ornament on every vacation christmas time or not.
Oh! I love those ornaments! Out of the ornaments we have, I really like snowmen, and stars.
pick me!
Choosing one favorite is so very hard! I think it might be the glass pickle, but I reserve the right to change my mind later. I feel like I should pick one of the handmades, but the pickle has fond memories attached to it. I definitely could use more shard free ornaments for the bottom half of the tree that will be subject to the 20 month old tornado!
Both are so lovely as is all you make.
I can’t believe you’re giving away your ORIGINALS! What a treasure they are. Hope I win!
awww, sweet ornaments! we would love to have them on our tree 🙂
my favorite ornaments are the ones made by my kids. and with 4 kids we have quite the handmade collection!
xo,
erika
Now I’m obsessed with finding cashmere sweaters at thrift stores! You have the cutest patterns. Thanks! [email protected]
They really brighten the Christmas tree with their vibrant colours!
Thank you for all the GREAT ideas! I love to see all the possiblities for my stash~ Thank you!
Pick me! Pick me!! 🙂 My favorite ornaments are the ones I’ve made with my kids throughout the years. So cute and such fun memories attached to each one!
It’s really hard to choose a favorite. REALLY hard. Maybe a little glass vintage rudolf.
Love your ornaments too!
http://www.goodygumdrop.typepad.com/
very cute
can’t wait for christmas
My favorite ornaments are the ones my son has made for me in school. especially the pre-school ones. His teachers came up with such clever ideas. I can’t wait to see what my daughter comes up with when she starts school next year.
Hello! My favorite ornament is one my mom made me by painting on a paper mache [email protected]
I think my favorite ornament is actually the star on my parents tree – it is cardboard covered in foil that was saved by my great-aunts during the year from gum wrappers, and is around 100 years old now. I love to read the card with the story every year as my dad hangs it at the very top of the tree….
taliessin at yahoo dot com
no ornaments per se, (not everyone celebrates christmas, you know)… but I love seeing, making and giving them
I LOVE ornaments. Can’t get enough of them and your’s are the cutest ever.
Nancy—[email protected]
i love your ornaments. your crafts are happy – they all make me smile.
my favorite ornaments are the two that my dad picked out for me for my first two christmasses. both are wooden. one is a little girl in a bell. the other is a rocking horse. i love the look of them, but better than that, i love that my dad picked them out.
Oh! how I love these pretty little ornaments. They are so sweet.
I have so many favorites, but I love all the handmade ones the most!
My favorite ornament is a tiny white bird in a cage. I got it because I had a cockatiel at the time and it reminded me of him. He died several years ago so now the ornament has a great deal of sentimental value to me.
My favorite ones are the ones my children have made! [email protected]
OOOh, I have to pick a favorite??? That’s tough! I think my favorite is the white bisque moon that I purchased when I first moved out on my own. It sat all by itself that first year, but I’ve really added to the tree since.
For me I like either the super delicate fragile glass ornaments or the super homespun ones.
It is hard to choose just one so I will choose two…the one I made when I was in 1st grade (little Christmas tree with a tiny picture of myself on it and little handwriting) and the one bought to celebrate the birth of my daughter (a beautiful porcelain cup with her name).
Yay, contest!
My favourite ornament is a little blue snowman I made in Girl Scouts for my mother; she’s been collecting blue snowmen ever since!
I LOVE the cupcake ornament!
My favorite ornament is a golden pony my mom and grandmother made many years ago. I love it with all my heart, and I get giddy to unwrap ornaments just to find that little lovely!
Betz,
We have lots of cool ornaments. In fact, one of the best gifts we received when we got married was a bunch of Christmas ornaments. It was a great start. Now, after 14 years, we have enough for 2 trees.
My all time favorites tho are the ones made by ‘Grandma Helen,’ a family friend who died several years ago. She crocheted bells, garlands, granny square stockings, and then had me make pincone angels … all for her ‘Grandma Helen’ tree. They make me think of her and smile. ([email protected])
Ooh, I love that birdy ornament!
My favorite ornaments are the ones my grandma has made for me over the past 20 years or so. They are all very crafty, some beads, some crocheted, some plastic canvas, some felted – quite a collection.
We just went to Hawaii and bought a Pineapple Ornament…it is my new favorite. Love your work!
[email protected]
I TOO WOULD LOVE TO WIN,ESPECIALLY THE BIRD BUT IF MY NAME IS DRAWN I’D HAVE YOU SEND IT TO JESS’S LITTLE FOUR YEAR OLD..MY FAVORITE ORNAMENT OF MY OWN—ONE I HAD ON MY FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE AS A CHILD.. A YELLOW GLASS BALL WITH CHILDREN PLAYING WITH A SLED IN THE SNOW…ALL IN RED……[email protected]
Hi Betz, Love your little bird and cupcake…My favorite ornaments are the ones that remind me of my kids, like the little glass “princess” shoe, personalized ones from the church bazaars, and of course ones with a little glitz
I love your work…so creative. My favorite ornaments are the snowflakes my mom crocheted for me many years ago.
Its not really my collection but collection I started for my children. Every St. Nicholas day I give them an ornament so that they have a collection of ornaments when they are ready to leave home.
I guess I like the homemade ornaments the best. I love ones made by others but do not have many people that make them. [email protected]
My favorite ornies are those made by my children and friends…handmade ornaments and gifts are always the best! Lana, Scottsboro, AL
I LOVE ornaments! My favorite is a little ornament with a baby in it that my mom gave me when my daughter was born. She started the tradition in our family of buying/making a special ornament each year to help remember something significant about that year.
Great giveaways. I’ve got my fingers crossed…..I enjoy your blog, thanks for sharing.
Oh with all the Halloween candy lying around here….what is one more sweet gonna hurt….love to have it…thanks.
the cupcakes are even cuter in miniature!
WOW! this must be what my DIL was talking about! marvelous! i love it all, i really can’t decide since everything i see here is wonderful. however, since i am so enchanted with the fall leaves right now, i’ll pick the cluster of leaves!
thanks for sharing!
I just came across your blog and love your felt cupcakes!
My favorite ornaments are my mom’s 80s/90s teacher ornaments that her students have given her over the years. They remind me of my childhood spent in her classroom helping and having fun with my mama.
I’m off to explore your site!
You have such a cute blog and I love all your projects! I just wish I could find some cute wool sweaters here.
I inherited an ornament from my parent’s tree….it is so special.
I can remember my sisters carving all the childrens’ names into this little blue “Shiney Brite” ornament. It’s from the 1940’s and I love it so much!
Barbara
I may have missed the deadline, but my favorite ornament is a little tin firetruck that my husband and I bought at a little candy shop after cutting down our first Christmas tree.
I have too many favorite ornaments to pick just one! My mom gave us one ornament each year as we decorated our tree, so I have a special ornament to mark each year with. And this year I will take them with me to my very own place! I always enjoy your blog and wonderful projects, Betz!

I really like the bird! How cool would it be to decorate a Christmas tree with just birds of all different colors and them complimentary colored balls. I like to do theme trees 😀
My favorite ornaments are any made by my children. Knowing that they spent time to make something for the family (or sometimes for me) means so much more than simply buying something from the store (although that’s not a bad thing).
My favorite ornament is one I made for my parents in kindergarten with yarn, paper plates, and my kindergarten photo…can’t believe it hasn’t disintegrated (circa 1976, I am 38!!)
Please put my name in the draw, thanks!!
They are both gorgeous and so sweet! This is a lovely givaway X Gemma X [email protected]
My favourite ornaments are hand blown glass icicles. I buy more every year although some also break. That comes of having two kitties I suppose.
Smiling Hello:)
What a timing! Now-a-days I’m pretty busy for my Noel ornaments, mostly evenings after work.
My favorite ornaments are all-handmade stuff. I love making mini-stockings, stars and mini-pinetrees for my tree. I prefer good quality cotton fabrics and felts, and enjoying to bead them.
And, now I made a wish for your giveaways. Special thanks for giving opportunity to join and win hopefully:)
Miles of Smiles.

Absolutely loove that little birdie! Soo cute! That will definately be my favourite! As soon as Randy picks me! 🙂
Love your ornaments! My favorite ornament is a wooden bell shape with a red pipe cleaner hanger that I colored (scribbled) black and stuck a bell sticker on. I was five and we made these great gems at Sunday School. My mom saved it along with all my other creations and I hang it on my tree every year with fond memories of a creative childhood.

My Mom started a tradition when I was little to buy me an ornament every year for Christmas. The first one I can remember is my favorite; it was Grover from Seasame Street made out of ceramic. 🙂
Many compliments for your creations! Saluti dall’Italia, ciao
My favorite ornament ever is one I made in Girl Scouts when I was 8yrs old. We took two oval mirrors and sandwiched them together. But before glueing them, we used rubbing alcohol to rub off the silver finish on the back of one of the mirrors. Then we placed a picture of ourselves in that spot between the mirrors. Rick rack on the mirrors edge… and you have a pretty portrait ornament. I love looking at that little me and flipping it over to see my reflection as an adult. My mom puts it on the tree every year!!

This is an easy one 🙂 My favorite ornament is a little plastic train that I bought for my first child. He is 28 so that will give you an idea of how faded that ornament is 🙂
Thanks for the sharing such cute ornaments. My favorite ornament is a small angel made from wood and lace.
Hi my favorite are bird ornaments and others made with origami paper, this would be a cute addition to my bird theme…. thanks!
So cute to have a birdy perched on a tree.
My favorite ornament is a silver sprider web because it tells the story of how a spider’s web was turned silver and became the tinsel on a tree.

I love the birdy. I’ll have to make one for my tree – unless I win yours!
I love the few very old ornaments my mom gave me that were on her tree when she was young. And also the cardboard Santa that I made in Kindergarten nearly 40 years ago.
Hello Betz!
My all time favourite ornament is a frog prince I bought few years ago from a department store in Netherlands. It has a shiny olive green surface with pink ornaments and a golden crown.
Greetings from Finland!
My favorite is a box of angels my mom made for me before she passed away from lung cancer a few years ago. Last year I was able to decorate my entire tree with them and it was beautiful. Kim

A sterling silver snowflake bought by my parents the year I was born. My father always made trimming the tree an important occasion and it was each child’s job to put their ornament on the tree as Dad reminisced about the year we were born. I love pulling it out each year and being enveloped in my parents love.
My tree is decorated all in birds, and my favorite of them all is a Hallmark Keepsake Chicadee ornament I bought a few years ago. It’s just beautiful.
I love your work. Everything is so colorful and whimsical! Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway!
I don’t have any one single ornament that I love. I love them all and I have fond memories of Christmases past. I think the most fond of the ones I made as a child…however I’m sure that will change when my girls will start making ornaments- and I’m sure they’ll turn out to be my favorites!

Love your decorations, especially the cute little bird! My favourite ornament is a small bauble, covered with fine, dark blue silky-satiny threads, so it’s quite shiny, and it has a few little gold stars attached to it. I’ve had it since I was little, always loved it and it came with me when I left home.
Thanks for the chance to win,
Anne
Oh, I love you blog and everything you make!
Just this week I am coragious enough to give a comment.
My favourite ornament is a pair of small birds that my mother had since I was born.
I loved it so much, I always tried to copy them when playing with clay as a kid, but never successful!!
They still exist of course, and I hope my future kids will be able to admire them as much!
Juliana
Hi Betz,
I’m excited about this giveaway! Christmas is my favourite holiday and I think it has something to do with the decorations!
My favourite ornaments are these crazy 10 for 99 cents sparkly plastic snowflakes! We had a winter wedding and the entire room was a smattering of these sparkly snowflakes–it was dazzling!
I guess they have a special place cause they’re so cheap I have lots! they have great impact in my decorating scheme!
thanks

my favourite ornament is a stained-glass angel. I always position it so there’s a light right behind it, and I love it 🙂
Wouldn’t it be cool to do a whole tree of BIRD ornaments?! Love your blog!
Debbie
I love the new book cover. The combination of colors is so perfect.
I would love to be the proud owner of a Betz White original.
Katie
You make such beautiful things. I am decorating my 1 yr old daughters room in birds. If I win this it would go straight to her! Thanks for the chance!
I love your ornaments, as well as all of your designs! I have an antique Santa on a sled that was my Dad’s when he was a very young boy. There is a box on the back of the sled. Every year there would be a quarter in the box and the ornament would be hidden in the branches. The sled runners will sit on a branch. It would be fun to find the sled. I have kept up the tradition with my son. The ornament is now over 85 years old. I cherish it.

I remember making clay ornaments that we then painted. I don’t really see those around anymore. Remember the really salty clay that you bake? That was fun. 🙂
the cupcake is for sure my fave! so very cute!
My favourite ornaments are the first Christmas ornaments I got for my son and daughter… They bring back such sweet memories.
Thanks for the giveaway! I love the cupcake especially!

i love the little birdie guy. have the book, need to make some for myselft…or better yet win one!!
How generous of you. Thank you for letting me enter…Angie
You design the absolute cutest little felties. I adore them, and have purchased you book for myself and a few friends, what fun you get from an old sweater and socks!!! Who Knew.
My favorite ornament is one I made with my mom when I was in about 4th grade: it is an angel, body made of paper wrapped in white yarn and sewn down the middle and curled slightly; same for the arms, which are sewn together to hold a small green yarn wreath in front; wings are wire wrapped yarn; head is a small satin ornament wrapped in yarn for hair. I have the prototype; we went on to make about 25 to donate to a church craft fair, and I made unique hair for each–curling the yarn around pencils with glue, braiding it, etc. I remember being so proud that people bought them…and I still treasure the little thing. But then, I have a tree filled with hand-made ornaments. (hint-hint).

Hello! I’ll play — My fav. ornament is from Christmas Eve 1992. It is an angel ornament given to me from my husband. This is how he proposed to me. My engagement ring was cleverly nestled in her hair like a halo.
: )
Love your ornaments Betz…everything is sooo cute. My favorite ornament is a handmade salt dough ornament in the shape of a wedding bell, personalized for my husband and I when we first got married. I have loved putting it on the tree for the past 16 years!
Hello Betz, congratulations for your works, are wonderful!!! Hello from Italy!
My fav is probably the one given to me by a dear friend for my first Christmas with my husband.
I love those little cupcake ornaments – I’m planning on making a batch for my tree this year! My favorite ornaments are some “old” ones that my mom has given me from our family tree and some “new” ones that my new husband and I have started purchasing for our tree!
Every year since my sister and I were born, my mom got us each an ornament for Christmas. That way when we grew up and left home we would have a collection of ornaments to start off with. I absolutely love looking back on the years through all of the ornaments that my mom choose for us.
My favorites ornaments are the ones that my grand mother made when I was a child, but it would sure be fun to win that little bird, it sure is a beauty. Take care.
One of my favorite ornaments is a paper sculpture of the sun on one side of the ornament and the moon on the other side. I made many of these from a paper casting mold for dear friends and family, as well as one for my tree!

Love the cupcake and birdie! My favorite ornaments are a set of little retro skiers that must be from the 1960s that I scavenged at Goodwill. Every year, I have bought a big bag of ornaments and gleaned the sweet 1960s ornaments for my collection (it’s actually one of my most treasured possessions) I am counting down until the weekend after Thanksgiving to get out the boxes of special treasures!
Thank you for the great giveaway!

One of my favorite ornaments is one I made as a child. It is made from bottlecaps covered with fabric then made into a wreath shape. Thanks for the chance!! I would be blessed to have these ornaments on my tree this year!!
I love the cupcake ornament!!
My favorite ornament in my collection would be a dough ornament handmade by a friend of mine to replicate my favorite ornament from my parents’ house!
my favorites are a clothesline of mrs. claus clothes from avon – I plan on adding to the collection & knitting some of my own mini clothing items for the tree.
