Where are my manners! I’ve been so busy pointing all of you in the direction of my cyber travels (blog tour) that I’ve neglected to tell you about my real trip to New York!
The first stop will be this Friday, 4/17 at Brooklyn General. I’ll be there signing books, doing a napkin binding demo and doing a “trunk show” which is fancy talk for “playing show & tell with all of my samples from Sewing Green”. Contact the store for details!
Next up: A mini-workshop and signing at Purl Soho, Saturday, 4/18. For the workshop we’ll be making these sweet and felty nest brooches, a perfect gift for Mother’s Day! Stop by, say hi, grab a book and make some cute stuff. Visit Purl for details and sign up! (FYI, the nest brooch pattern is not from Sewing Green…it’s bonus!)
What’re ya doing Monday night, 4/20? Come on over the the Etsy Labs and join me for Craft Night! We’ll be making Tyvek Totes…together in the twilight. Totally.
Phew! I better start packing my bags, there’s much to do in the next few days. Hope to see some of you in the Big Apple!

Che belli i fiori! Ciao. Simo
Hello !
My name is Sabine, and I’m french. I visit your blog a lot of time and I would tell you, I love your crafts ! A big “bravo” to you !
à bientôt !
You have GOT to stop titling your posts after song lines LOL!!! I get the song in my head and can’t get it out all day. Love, love, love those felty nest brooches.
Wish I lived near NY so I could make one!
Betz, you are one seriously busy girl! I want to be like you when I grow up. Any pointers?
Love the nest brooch! I can’t get from TX to NY for the class (!?!) Any chance you would share the pattern? Or make it available to purchase in your shop? Thanks.
Sei bravissima. Complimenti!!!
Ciao Ciao
The napkin rings and nest brooch, how cute! Enjoy your trip to NY.
Aww, the little nests are adorable! If I could only get out of MN and visit NY I’d totally be at the labs on Craft Night. Have loads of fun.
Oh my goodness! Those nest brooches are marvellous!
I bought your book & love it! I have a question. On the resuable sandwhich wrap I was wondering about making the fused plastic from the plastic bags from cereal? Wouldn’t it be food grade? Not as cute but that can always be over come. Thank you for sharing your craftiness with us.
I have your book & love it! I have a question. For the reusable sandwich wrap, I was thinking of using the bags from breakfast cereal. I already have 3 of them fused together. What do you think? Granted it wouldn’t be as pretty, but that can always be overcome 😉
Betz – My mom randomly met you at Purl. She didn’t sign up for the workshop because she assumed that you wouldn’t have space! She told me that she chatted with you and I’m so jealous! We both love your new book. It’s beyond fabulous. Maybe we can get up to Squam this summer time permitting. Best, Sarah aka Geek+Nerd

I just finished reading Sewing Green. It is fantastic!!!!! I can’t wait to gift it to every crafter I know. And by the way those little brooches are adorable. What a greet of Spring! Any chance you’ll teach us how? Thank you for all the joy you put out in the world.
Be well.
Hello Betz! I was at the Etsy Labs craft night last night and I had a lot of fun making my Tyvek tote. Thank you for sharing your fabulous project with us! xoxo
