Muck and pluck were the two things that we yarnies had in common at the very rainy and muddy Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival this weekend.
Attendees were armed with handknit socks and rugged clogs. Their quest for fiber was unfettered by the weather!
Others, such as the ironically named Sunnyland Band, just had themselves a soggy ol’ hootenanny.
This is what my hair resembled by the end of the day. 🙂
Despite the dampness (and now a cold!) I am comforted just by admiring the yummy yarn I scored. Can’t wait to get knitting!
What shall I make?
WOW!
cool stuff!
I love those critters, too…
but are they… twitter critters!? hah!
okay.
That looks like fun! The sheep are incredibly cute and the yarn looks great! I’m sure it was a great event.
oh, I wish I had braved it. I was going to go on Saturday but they were saying it would be raining so I thought – okay, I’ll go Sunday. Then Saturday turned out great and Sunday was a mess! It’s the first time I’ve missed MD sheep and wool in many many many years. I’m so mad at myself for not going Saturday as I had planned. I’m glad you had fun! Is that some socks that rock yarn I see? oohh, I’m boo hooing now.
Beautiful yarn colors! Once I saw the process of making the alpaca yarn, it is such a hard work, so I really appreciate people who does it so we can enjoy the beatiful end result.
Darn – didn’t see you there! Love the photo of all the clogs and hand-knit socks (that’s what my sister was wearing; I resorted to sneakers). The sheep were lovely, and yarns were lovelier, the border collies were fabulous as was the music. A fantabulous festival!
