My little friends and I would like to invite you “locals” to join me Mother’s Day weekend! I am doing a workshop in Alexandria, Virginia with Fibre Space! Join me Saturday, May 8th to learn how to make your very own Felted Birdhouse.
These sweet abodes are a brand new project from me (do you remember my subtle preview?) never shared before! And that’s not the only thing special about this workshop. Danielle, the proprietress of Fibre Space, has arranged the most lovely day for us! The workshop will be held at the historic Columbia Firehouse restaurant, providing an amazing brunch spread served with mimosas, bloody marys, coffee and tea! Woo! Wish I could take the workshop, but I have to work that day. 😉
Ok, focusing back on the project again, ahem. In the class I’ll teach you how to create your own little birdhouse to embellish as you desire. I’ll be bringing my enviable stash of felted sweater scraps and other doodads to share with you. Please see the Fibre Space website for all of the details. Space will be limited, so please sign up soon!
Come celebrate Spring with me! Mothers, daughters, aunts and friends, all skill levels welcome. It’ll be a delicious day of creating, visiting and sharing with each other.
Sounds like a fantastic day! And how cute are these birdhouses?
Curse my Ohio residency! Those are the cutest things ever and the workshop sounds like so much fun!
OMG! These are adorable!
I think fate may have had it’s hand in this: I seriously am moving from Belgium to Bethesda, Maryland on May 7th!
Oh my gosh I just love birds and bird houses so much at the moment. Hmmmm I think flying from the UK would be a little extreme.
Hope it all goes well, sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun.
I love them! And that workshop sounds like just the vacation I need !
I too am cursing my Ohio residency!!! These are sooooooo stinkin’ cute!!!! I triple love them!
Those birdhouses are simply gorgeous! I would so much like to take part in the workshop, unfortunately it is a bit too far from the UK! Such a shame x
Another amazing project! Wish I lived closer.

I want to come too…but I live in Canada and that is just too far!!!!! Betz, those birdhouses are absolutely adorable..love, love, love!
DO you think my daughter would be upset if I missed her appointment for a first fitting of her wedding dress so that I can come spend the day making birdhouses with you?
They’re so adorable! I wish I could come.
I love the birdhouse, especially the buttons. Too bad I’m living in the UK 🙁 it sounds like a wonderful workshop.
aaaaarghhhh so cute, I love them and I’m just so far away … absolutely unfair !! please share photos of this lovely workshop !
Could please come to Australia to show this workshop!?
Soooooooooo cute!!!
Rats! I’m too far away residing in Texas. Will the pattern be available for purchase, and if so, can you tell me where please.
I hope someday you will offer the birdhouses as a pdf pattern… would love to make some!

I will keep you posted regarding a pattern. It will most likely be available later in May after the workshop!
The birdhouse is so cute, I love it!! I always follow your blog, it’s plenty of nice ideas and works.
Best regards from Girona, in Catalonia, Spain.

If the babysitting stars align, I will be there!
There is something so sweet about little birds–my grandma would love this. Oooooo, but I live too far away. P.S. Love that background fabric, too!
Betz, thank you for sharing your bird/on birdhouses!!! They are so colorful and using the buttons!! Adorable seems too simple to describe…there has to be another word!!! thank you!!! debbie
Living in Germany, really puts me at a great distance. But, I sure do admire your creativity. These are nothing short of adorable. Thanks for the peek!
These are so adorable. Looking forward to a pattern in the coming months. You are very generous with your creativity. I still love making several things from “Warm Fuzzies”-my go to book when I need a gift. How did you ever amass such a stash of cashmere? I find it once in awhile but not often enough to call it a stash. Any suggestions on where to look? I use to think church rummage sales gave me a decent amount but looking at your stash of colors makes me so envious.
Love love love this, yet another, bird-Spring projects.
These are so cute! I especially love the button “shingles”!
oh my greatness… too cute! i need to start using my felted sweaters. they sit in a big blob in my studio waiting for some creative stimulation. this may just be it!

Betz, these little stunning birdhouses almost make me weep with joy!! They are so sweet…I’d want to make a million. Wish you were heading up to Ohio…sigh…
These are so sweet! Why do I live so far away from all the fun stuff?
