A gorgeous new Stitch Magazine is available on the newsstands! The Spring 2010 issue has 37 sewing projects including 12 for baby and kids. I was more than happy to contribute a new design: The Baby Flight Cap.
This aviator style hat is perfect for those spring days when the weather can change on a whim. Flaps up (secured by a button and 2 loops) for light coverage or flip them down if a chilly breeze blows in. The Baby Flight Cap is made with my original Flutter print organic cotton sateen, lined with a soft buttery organic cotton sherpa. (sized 6 months – 3T)
I mentioned my new Flutter print a while back when I was talking about my print development process. Flutter is printed on 100% organic cotton sateen yardage and fat quarters and is now available in my etsy shop in 2 colorways: Tangerine with Spring Green and Spring Green with Blue Sky (seen above in flight cap).
Wouldn’t the Tangerine Flutter print be adorable in this Ruffled Halter?! This is another super cute project in Stitch Magazine from Oliver + S . Blair Stocker from Wisecraft also contributed several designs you can read about on her blog. Be sure to check out this issue, it is full of great stuff!
Stitch Magazine is available at Barnes & Noble as well as from the publisher’s website.
I just picked up a copy of this magazine at Barnes & Noble today. It has so many wonderful patterns, and projects!
I agree with you that the Oliver & S halter would look adorable in your print! Such good press and so well deserved. Nice too that yours was one of only a few kids patterns.
Congrats!
Your prints are adorable! And what a great pattern for baby…Thanks so much for the Twitter follow, congrats on your publication!

I simply love this Baby Flight Cap design! It’s lovely!
I LOVE this print, gonna save some pennies so I can make a one yard spring skirt out of it!!!!!
The fabric designs are so cheerful, and the kids are adorable. Great site.
i love it when they get a bunch of great designers to contribute. It makes for a great variety of projects and abilities. congrats!
Love this magazine…will definitely pick up the Spring issue.
Love the print!! I can’t wait to try and make some things for my granbaby girl..
I picked up the issue of Stitch magazine some time ago — and my son decided on the Flight Cap for his Pollyanna gift at school (though he insists I adapt it with eyes and bunny ears….).
As another blogger commented (art school dropout) the instructions would be so much easier to follow with a illustrated tutorial. I hope that you’ll consider doing one someday. In the meantime, I’ll go try to figure it out.
Thanks for the pattern!
