In Family

We’ve just returned from spending a week in New Hampshire at my family’s cottage, our favorite place on earth. This is the first glimpse we see of it as we pull into the driveway each year. Weary from the road trip, it truly is a sight for sore eyes (and sore everything else). We made it!

The property has been in the family for 115 years. And while the structures are themselves a bit weary from weathering harsh northern winters and the passage of time, the lake remains the same year after year. Crystal clear, calm, beautiful.

We spent the week with relatives swimming, kayaking, blueberry picking, hiking and knitting. One week was not enough! It never is….especially with the incredible weather we had.

Goodbye lake. I miss you already!

That is paradise for me. I lived on a lake and in the country and I miss it terribly.
