Right before the end of the year I like to do a recap, looking back to remind myself of what I accomplished in the last 12 months. Sometimes it is so easy to focus on what didn’t get done but I am trying to fight that urge!

Here’s my list, in no particular order:
• Added 8 new sewing patterns to my collection, including the Wildlife with Love™ group
• Exhibited for the first time with my own booth at Quilt Market in Houston
• Started selling my patterns at Joann and Hancock stores nationwide
• Offered 8 new free tutorials on my blog, wow!
• Taught 3 workshops locally
• Expanded my PDF pattern sales online via my Craftsy shop, Fat Quarter Shop, Sew Mama Sew and Pink Chalk Fabrics
• Closed my accounts with Pinterest and Instagram due to their terms of service (find me on Flickr!)
• Contributed projects to 2 books, Sewn Hats and We Love Color!
• Contributed a project to Stitch Magazine
• wrote and submitted several book proposals for craft and kids books

Phew!

In last year’s 2011 recap post I was pulling up my boot straps after a fruitful year that crashed and burned at the end with some big disappointments. For my 2012 recap, I’m happy to say that I am ending on a definite up note! One of the book proposals I ran up the flag pole got saluted! What does that mean? It means I signed a contract with a publisher to write my third sewing book! The proposal process was a year long (maybe longer?) ordeal but I am happy as can be with how it has finally come together. Yay!

So, what does 2013 have in store for me? Mainly a lot of time designing beautiful projects for the book. If memory serves from the last 2 books, I have my work cut out for me. I have every hope of pacing myself and enjoying the process. I’m really excited about this one and I can’t wait to share little bits about it when I am able. Meanwhile, I plan to keep up with the blog as best I can.

I’d like to thank you for continuing on my creative journey with me. I appreciate having you to share my ups and downs with! Best wishes for a happy and healthy new year!
