Hello! We just returned from a quick little family trip down to Sanibel Island in Florida for Spring Break. Last year we visited chilly NYC and decided to try somewhere warmer this year. As luck would have it, Florida had some record low temps this week and we were chilly once again! But the sun was shining and that was good enough for us.
We saw loads of wildlife such as turtles, alligators, all kinds of birds and even some manatees! The shells on the beaches were amazing and the boys had a great time darting into the surf collecting some beauties. It’s eye-opening what a change of scenery can do for you. I’m feeling refreshed and ready to get back at it!
Have a fabulous weekend!

I was just on Sanibel 2 weeks ago! It is a magical place!
I live about an hour from Sanibel and IT WAS COLD last week. Coldest month we’ve had since we’ve been here in April 2012. But we love living in FL. Glad you all had a fun time.
Lucky you!
We went to Captiva for our winter break. We love it down there!!
It’s gorgeous, I’d love to go back!
I love the bird name Egret. Just saying it makes me laugh….Egret….lol.
He was really cool, we watched him stalk a lizard and eat it!
You just visited one of the most magical places in the United States. We have visited that area of Florida twice a year for the past five years and we return home to Ohio rejuvenated and capable of facing the remaining winter months. We were there also during those cold days you experienced but cold there is better than cold in other parts of the United States. Hope you plan to give Sanibel another chance.
I’d love to go back and explore some more!
I have always wanted to go to Sanibel Island. Next spring break, come visit us in Charleston (it’s warm here too:) PS Those are airplants on the trees!
Oh my goodness. I have those shoes! Aren’t they the most comfortable things you’ve ever worn ? I met you at quilt market. Thanks for the newsletters! You have great stuff and congrats on your spoon flower fabrics. They are awesome!
