Last month I announced how thrilled I am to be teaching at QuiltCon 2015. Registration begins next week so I wanted to let you know what classes I’ll be teaching in case you’d like to join me!

 

The Pleated Pillow workshop is offered on Sunday February 22 from 9am – 5pm. I’ll show you how to make pleats, tucks, and origami style folds to create a pillow top with texture and dimension. Pre-cut strips are used to spend less time cutting and more time playing with pleats. Learn tricks to turn and press your work for a crisp clean result. 

 

I’m sure you’ve seen this pleated pillow before here on my blog, I taught this workshop at the Mid Atlantic Mod Retreat this past April and it was super fun! You can really get a lot of different effects depending on your fabric choices. You’ll get a copy of my Pleated Pillow Trio Pattern and we should have time in class to play around with the other two pillow styles as well, so if you have any *extra fabric* (ahem) bring that along!

The Sweet Life Pillow workshop is offered on Saturday February 21 from 9am – 5pm. In this class we’ll layer, stitch, and cut to create a rich and textural pillow front. Learn a special reverse appliqué technique using felt, fabric, and water soluble stabilizer. Apply your motif to a pieced and quilted pillow top.
