Today we’ve reached our next “destination” of the Road Trip Pattern Club! Our sewing adventure continues with the second pattern of the club, the Kimono Wrap by Patty Young of Modkid!
Patty designed the Kimono Wrap to take you from hotel to poolside. It’s a beautiful packable robe that doubles as a swim cover-up! And because this pattern is based on your measurements, it’s a custom fit. There are no pattern pieces to print and tape together either, it’s all measure cut and sew. Fast and fabulous!
I made one up for myself this weekend and it went together in a snap! I used a pretty pink and orange voile. Because the print is based on a 1″ grid, it made it even easier to measure and cut the pieces. I know the hanger doesn’t do this justice, but I’m not brave enough to model this with my suit on the internet. You’ll just have to pop on over to Patty’s blog post to see her gorgeous test sewers model their Kimono Wraps! It really looks great on a variety of shapes and sizes.
This pattern is the second in a series of 5 coming to you this summer as part of the Road Trip Pattern Club! If you haven’t signed up they and would like to get in on the action, you can learn more about the club here. The first pattern released was my Road Tripper Duffle Bag. Sign up any time and get all 5 patterns as they are released!
