Happy happy Spring! I’m excited to share with you my latest mini-class project, the Patchwork Bunny! I’ve loved bunnies ever since I was a little girl and always wished I had a real one. I’ve never owned a pet bunny but at this point in my life I’ll take a bunny pillow instead.
This project is made with scraps of lush wool fabric, pieced together with fusible interfacing and a wide zigzag stitch. The result is a playful patchwork with nice smooth seams.
Then the patchwork front and back are joined with a long strip of wool then stuffed into a plump huggable friend, measuring about 14″ tall, including the ears.
For personality, I added perky ears, button eyes and a fluffy pompom tail. Sweet!
I love how the bunny looks on a bed as an accent pillow. And how cute would a bunny pillow be as an Easter or Springtime gift?! The little girl in me would be ecstatic to receive one! (But maybe just slightly disappointed that it’s not a real bunny)
I’d love it if you joined me in this new online mini-class. You’ll learn how to piece the fabrics, cut the shapes and assemble the pillow. You’ll need a sewing machine with a zig-zag stitch and a few basic tools and materials. You can grab a stack of yummy wool fabrics in my shop or use your own.
