I’m excited to share my new embroidery pattern, called Just One Word!

I’ve had so much fun experimenting with dimensional felt appliqué techniques over the years. This new design really highlights some of those 3D effects. The center of the flower is practically bursting into bloom as the felt is stitched, snipped then tacked open with French knots.

Just one word 3d appliqué

The banner appliqué has a similar effect as it unfurls the word of your choice. (I chose HOME because of our recent move and our commitment to call it home.) You can stitch any 4 to 5 letter word, such as LOVE or PEACE or a name. Even a special numerical date would work!

I’ve stitched the design on black Essex Linen and used DMC floss plus some pretty variegated pearl cotton floss from Sue Spargo. The felt is wool blend felt, my favorite go-to for appliqué.

I wasn’t planning on offering kits, although comment if you think you’re interested. In the meantime, here are the floss details if you’re looking to get started and were wondering what I used.
