Last year when I created the Just One Word embroidery, my word for the year was HOME. Having just gotten through 2020 “staying at home” and moving to upstate New York the first week of 2021, it was a good word for me. Despite the chaos of life at that time, HOME was the most important thing, being with my people.
Next month I’ll be teaching the Just One Word embroidery at QuiltCon! I’m excited (although, yes, a little nervous) to be teaching this in person to fellow stitchers. While there are a lot of fun techniques to learn with this 3D appliquéd project, I’m so curious about what word folks will decide to stitch on theirs.
Is choosing a word something you do to help guide you throughout the year? If so, what word have you chosen?
I’m still noodling over my word for 2022. It usually takes me until February to really decide!
If you’d like to stitch your own Just One Word, you can get the pattern and the supply kit in my shop! The design accommodates 4-5 letter words, but if you have a longer word let me know and I will do my best to help you fit it into the design.
