How did Fall get upon us so fast? Here I am, minding my own busy business and the next thing I know I am frantically prepping for a HUGE show in October. I’ve been invited to participate in the Country Living Show this October 6-9 at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. I’m feeling very honored and excited to be involved in such a classy event. But, egad, a 4 day show? The prospect is daunting to say the least. This show is going to be the biggest investment in time, money and preparation of any other show I’ve done.
In addition to the magnitude of the show, consider the demographics! My experience has been with edgy, one day indie-crafter type shows. You know how they are…definitely in the “little bit rock and roll” category. Imagine the contrast in customers to the Country Living Show. It will be very festive, upbeat and obviously in the “little bit country” genre. I’m going to have to tailor my approach a bit, don’t you think? Although, my product has always had a broad appeal. I’ve sold to customers ages 7 to 70.
Don’t tell anyone, but sometimes at the indie fairs amid tatoos and piercings I feel a bit like Sandy in the movie Grease. Who knows, at the Country Living Fair, I may end up being the edgy one! 🙂
By the way, I do have a FEW passes to get into the show. If you’re in the Chicago area and you’re feeling “a little bit country” I will send them to you.
Now excuse me, but I’ve got to “rock and roll” on some inventory for the show!
Ooh! Congratulations on the show! How exciting for you. I’m in Milwaukee and would love to go and see the show. I think you’ll be just fine there.
good luck I hope all goes well And you can “roll” with anything that coes your way.

And the pickings at the thrift for wook seaters has been horrible, but hopefully now that fall is here people will be cleaing out their closets for new arrivals and some gap striped lambswool seaters will start showing up. Good luck getting ready for the october show….
Wouldn’t you know it–I’m in Chicago the weekend BEFORE! GaK!
Way cool, Betz! I noticed on the Craft Mafia web-site that you are their crafter of the week. Keep on rolling!
Good luck with making preparations for the show, I’m sure they’ll love your products.
