Yes, I’m still here. It’s been a heck of a week. Here’s a little synopsis of the week’s peaks and valleys. (Sorry, no photos this post. You’ll understand why in a minute)
Valley: Last weekend I had the stomach flu on my husband’s birthday. He ended up having his birthday dinner out alone with the kids while I remained horizontal on the couch at home.
Peak: The stomach flu puts a dent in one’s productivity level. Thankfully, a person suffering from the stomach flu is too sick to freak out about impending book deadlines. Must be a defense mechanism. Or something.
Peak: I’ve had emails and phone calls all week requesting wholesale orders of my work.
Valley: I found out from a friend that one of my wholesale accounts (now former) is knocking off my cupcake pincushions, selling them side by side to mine and charging less. Is there no decency?
Peak: I found out a friend is newly pregnant.
Valley: I had the realization that in the next eight and a half months her body will create an ENTIRE human being. I started this book thing (my “baby”) over three months ago and her baby will still get here before mine!
Peak: I got a sneak peek at the cover design of my book!
Valley: I’m not ready to show it to you yet.
Peak: Today is the last day to finish up my projects for my gianormous deadline tomorrow!
Valley: My son is home sick on the couch with the stomach flu. Neither of us slept last night.
Peak: I got a phone call today from a TV producer interested in my work!
Valley: Are you kidding? I’m all giddy…(which is enhanced by the lack of sleep)
Valley: My kitchen floor crunches when I walk on it and my kids get dressed in the laundry room every morning.
Peak: I’m not keeping up with the house work. (is that a peak or a valley?)
Peak: I have a ton of ideas I can’t wait to share with you. I have a goal of one project to share every week.
Valley: I have a tendency to want to do it all and say yes to everything. I will do my best!
Oh I hope you are feeling much better very soon. And I amvery excited to see your projects, and the book.
You don’t know me – i found your wonderful blog through your article in Knitty.
I love this post! Congrats on all of your peaks (especially the housework one – i’m not keeping up with mine and i don’t even have a book or businesses calling).
I’m very excited for you.
🙂
Hope you feel better soon. A project a week – yippee I look forward to the eye candy…
I hope that you and your son are feeling better soon. Don’t fret over the little things they will take care of themselves. It is deplorable that a former wholesaler is taking credit for your talent. I posted a picture of the pin cushions I bought for Christmas on my blog. I don’t sew but knit, and it’s a permanent tea party waiting for me in my studio.
A TV producer! How wonderful! That could be fun.
I am sorry about your cupcakes. Unfortunately those things happen. It’s very frustrating.
I spent several hours today just folding laundry, really just folding. I am so far behind. It will still be there tomorrow.
So many exciting things are going on for you! I can’t wait to see the book cover. I hope everyone is feeling better soon.
Oh Betz, hope you and your son get better soon. I’m glad there are some amazing news in the midst of some not so good ones, but I’m sure you’ll get through them just fine. Congrats.
