Life is a work in progress, isn’t it?
Had a little time this weekend to work on the pillows using those remnants I picked up last week. I disassembled some old pillows and reused the forms and some of the trims. Through the miracle of photography you can’t tell that I haven’t finished these yet. Still need to hand sew them closed.
They are starting to come together. I might need a stripe in the mix. And definitely some sort of graphic pop…an applique of some sort.
I came across this photograph my husband took. Hmmm…it might look nice on the wall here. Not sure yet.
But the BEST WIP of all this weekend was that of my 7 year old! He had been pestering me for some extra chores. (He’s trying to supplement his allowance to buy a Bionicle) I decided to let him help me out with my work. We started off with some easy folding and pinning.
Success! You don’t know how exciting this is for me. He didn’t poke himself with the pins, he paid attention to detail, he even said it was fun! He was just swinging his legs. listening to music, helping Mom.
What a cute helper! I love a crafty boy. It is a cool 90 degrees in Madison for the first day of school. Hope it is cooler in Maryland. Take care. Love the pillows, too.
Love the matching of color between the pillows and the picture. It really works. Damian:)
Love the trim on the pillows!
And your helper has inspired me – my own 6 y/o may be up to helping me as well.
Luv your blog!
What a fabulous helper! Love the pillows!
Great pillows, and an even better helper!
LOVE the Priority box filled with cupcakes, by the way — looks so yummily colorful!
That is adorable…doesn’t it make you so happy when your kids actually want to help you! They feel so needed! 🙂
Love your blog, as always!
Your cushions look wonderful, and the house is looking so homey already. Your little one is adorable, he seems very enthusiastic to help with crafting and thrifting, a great helper indeed!
Awww! Good for you, you’ve got a lackey! 😉 What a cutie. Can’t wait until my kids are old enough to help!
Those pillows are great now, they’ll REALLY be stunning once you add the appliques! Gorgeous work! I love reading your blog!
i love these fabrics–especially all together!
