Look what I’ve been playing with…
I made these wool “pennies” from sweater scraps and from the windfall of wool fabric I received this summer.
I don’t know why I’m so drawn to circles lately.
First there was the new bath mat…
then there was the remnant that became a pillow…
Then my SIGG bottle joined in…
And finally an article in the Fall 2007 issue of Creative Home on “penny rugs” by a woman named Mary Knowles.
Circles! In wool! What could be better?
And now I can’t stop making them. So many scraps, so many possibilities….
Absolutely nothing is better than circles of wool…nothing! 🙂
I’m loving your new bathmat also.
what a great thematic post! thanks for sharing!
your colour combos are delicious, funky bathmat too

I’m the same at the minute – spots, dots, circles, I just can’t seem to get enough!!!!
Oh Betz, I’ve been pining to make trees and flowers like this for a penny rug pillow, and you’ve done it so well I don’t even dare!! Beautiful work, as always 🙂
I’m partial to circles too. Have been for some time now. And it has nothing to do with where I live. Just a happy coincidence. Really.
No, really.

To Kathy in Circleville,
You crack me up!

I was going to mention Penny rugs! Porter and Fonz did a show on them and they’ve been on my mind ever since.
Your plaids and stripes add a fun and funky look to a traditional craft. Love your work!
I love these felt circles, they are so cute (they look great on a rug / cushion). You’re right, the possibilities are endless!
Just beautiful. And I love the blanket edge stitching! I haven’t done any of that in a long time- I will have to get out the embroidery thread and give it a go. Thanks for sharing!
Those are the cutest things! Hmmm…. you know those would look cute on a scrapbook page!
They look wonderful! I think they might be addictive.
Now I have to go find Creative Home magazine at BN. Every time I come to your blog, my shopping list and project list grows. 🙂
What yummy circles….makes me want to penny rug a bit! Thanks for the inspiration!
