I hope you’ve marked your calendars for the Seneca Creek Bag Sew-along! Today I’m reviewing supplies so you can gather everything you’ll need before we get started on February 8th.
A few Senecas made last year by members of the Bag of the Month Club, for your inspiration
PATTERN
You’ll need a copy of the Seneca Creek Bag pattern, discounted now through March 2nd in my Etsy shop, especially for this sew-along! Print out the pattern, checking to be sure that your printer is set at 100%, do not scale.
FABRICS
1/4 yard Main fabric, such as quilting cotton or home decor weight fabric
1/3 yard Accent Fabric, such as quilting cotton or home decor weight fabric
1/2 yard Lining Fabric, such as quilting cotton, chambray, cotton sheeting
STABILIZERS
1 yard woven cotton fusible interfacing, such as Pellon SF101
1/4 yard fusible fleece, such as Pellon Thermolam
HARDWARE
7” interior zipper
9” exterior zipper
(2) 1” slider buckles (one for strap, one for flap)
(1) 1⁄2” magnetic snap
(2) 1⁄2” D-rings
(2) 1” swivel-clips
For the buckle, be sure to get a style that will look nice front and center on the flap! Not sure where to get hardware? Here’s a post I’ve written with lots of resources for you!
TOOLS
Fabric Shears and/or rotary cutter and mat
Iron and press cloth
Disappearing-ink marker
