Oh look, things are starting to POP!
Spring is coming with new beginnings. It doesn’t care about grocery bills or the Bailout, a slow internet connection or piles of laundry. Spring just shows up every year. Spring happens, life moves forward…
I’m trying to teach myself to take a moment, to look around and notice the movement forward. This is what I’m seeing…
New pink buds, green sprouts
Little boy’s feet looking not-so-little today
Baby teeth replaced by gaps and ridgey incisors
Longer days, more sounds of kids playing in the park
The highlights in my hair, hmmm, looking more grey now than golden
New friends both local and “virtual”
New opportunities, ideas, inspiration…
Keep it coming, keep it coming.
What do you see?
What I see is 6 feet of snow in my front yard !!!
Certainly no beautiful blooming trees like in your neck of the woods.
Diane
Softening earth.
More people walking around the neighborhood.
Birds feathering nests (unfortunately in my roof eave.)
Bright green peeking thru the brown.
My motivation sparked.
Kids sleeping is off schedule.
More balls in the yard than previous months.
Clothes drawer in desparate need of renewal and change.
Beautiful photos! I hope spring start looking like that here. It is warming up, but snow still covers an awful lot. Your post make me hopeful that it is indeed on its way here too. :o) Thanks
I am so ready for spring! I’ve been looking at my slower pictures from last spring and summer to get ready. Just a little while longer!
I see everything in my mind’s eye right now; swimming lessons with my little guy, seedlings popping up our of the ground. Slouching in the hammock. Iced tea on the front porch. I could keep going…
Out the doors a clear blue sky, green hills, mountains, puple flowers reflected in the pool, a gorgeous sunny day in California.
Looks and feels and smells like SPRING!
In the studio, freshly cleaned and organized ~ color color COLOR everywhere…me and the boy, making art!
JOY!
I’m seeing the buds popping, too, not as much but they’re there.
I love the spring.
I still see LOTS of snow
but, lots of sunshine,
lots of hope that spring will come soon!
lots of snow
lots of sunshine
lots of hope that spring will soon come!
While there is still a lot of snow on the ground, the warmer temperatures mean the kids playing outside again and my indoor flowers are blooming again with the light. All the promise of spring means I should tackle the spring cleaning before the garden beckons me out. I love your blossom photos!
The normal spring opening here in North Central Texas – bluebonnets and kleenex. 🙂
I see more trips to the beach, more shoes filled with sand, visits to the zoo, and more TDY’s for the husband. I also hoipe to get out and start running since the weather is so nice now. Some perks about living on an island (Okianwa).
These are so gorgeous, and you have a great way of focusing on the best and the enduring. Our jasmine is blooming more every day and the scents compete with the beautiful white flowers.
Thanks for the pretties.
Enjoying the afternoon in the backyard with a curious toddler! There’s nothing better! 😉
Betz,
Thanks for your beautiful photos, spring snow here today and your writting was just what I needed facing a week without a hubby and three boys with a severe case of spring fever. Thanks, MO in Montana
yay – DC is always a few weeks ahead so now I know Spring really will come soon – even tho I had to dig my wool socks out today!
Check out my blog-so far we have 3 inches of snow. Lovely springtime in the Rockies!
Beautiful!
It’s still a long way to cherry blossom here, about 20 cms snow in the ground. But can’t wait! Spring is the most magical time in the year.
That’s so beautiful! Nothing is popping here yet, but tomorrow is supposed to be over 70 degrees, so things should start happening soon, I can’t wait!
Umm… I still see snow… albeit some spring shoots coming up from it. Brave, brave shoots.
I see my dog, staring at me and waiting patiently to go for a walk.
I loved your post!
Here’s what I have been noticing:
*The winter sun trying to peek through the clouds every day.
*Birds singing in the mornings.
*Green poking through the cool earth.
*Bluer skies when the clouds are away.
*Cheerful-er people.
Redwood cones forming for the first time in 20+ years
Raindrops hanging on for dear life on the end of branches
Baby Blue Eyes decorating the meadow
A guest bedroom with no guest
Signs of anticipation…
I noticed quite similar signs of Spring in my yeard too…and just had to blog about it! hmmmmm Do we both live in Oregon?
Stay Cozy, Carrie
Happy Wednesday Betz,
I got your new book today!!! After a long afternoon of Macaroni art with 5 kids I came home and there is was waiting for me. I love it!! So nice to see that thrifting is in. I have shopped at thrift stores my whole life, growing up poor, and now as an adult. I still remember my older sister in high school altering a men’s shirt and them putting and Espirit label on the outside (illegal i’m sure) and wearing it to school for rave reviews.(High school is rough on us all!) It was fun to see your projects and take on all the wonderful things to be found thrifting. Anyway, thanks for your continuing inspiration!!! No blossoms here yet, but the Dandylions are starting to come up!!! Cheers Mariah in Montana
What do I see? Our old and majestic, but bedraggled, hurricane-damaged Water Oak – a valued member of our family, leafing out – proving he is stronger than a Cat 3 hurricane.
I see…
-perfumed hyacinthes in bloom
– roses sprouting
– birds running from here to there, chirping merrily
– ants walk fast searching something to drag in their nest
– people walk around often in the parks
– kitten play in the grass under a warm sun
I love when spring come: every thing wake up and life return everywhere
